Abstract: Brown, Pink and Blue

€300.00

New kilim, an abstract decorative wall hanging, hand woven by me on a traditional loom.

I started weaving this piece without a plan or a finished design in mind. I worked intuitively and let the threads guide me, choosing colours and textures as the piece slowly developed. The palette came naturally, with different shades of brown, pink and blue coming together throughout the weaving.

I mainly used 2nd hand wool and cotton yarns, leftover materials from previous projects and other reclaimed materials. I also used a small amount of acrylic yarn. I wanted to work with materials that were already available to me instead of buying something new.

The kilim is hung on a small natural branch that I found in the woods near my home. I chose it instead of a traditional wooden dowel to keep the whole piece natural and simple.

Details:

  • Hand-woven by me

  • One-of-a-kind original piece

  • Materials: mainly 2nd hand and recycled wool and cotton yarns, with some acrylic yarn

  • Natural branch

  • Ready to hang

  • Approx. 68 cm long and 35 cm wide (43 cm wide including the hanging branch)

Because both the kilim and the branch are handmade and made using reclaimed materials, small variations and imperfections are part of the character of this piece.

Delivery & Packaging

I pack each piece carefully so it reaches you safely. Whenever possible, I also use recycled or 2nd hand packaging materials to keep the idea of giving existing things a second life.
