Autumn Abstract

€300.00

New kilim, an autumn-inspired decorative wall hanging, hand-woven by me on a traditional loom.

The inspiration for this piece came from the colours of autumn. I love the way the landscape changes in autumn and becomes a whole palette of reds, from deep burgundy and rusty shades of orange to warm browns, muted pinks and everything in between. I wanted to bring some of these colours and textures into this kilim.

I mainly used 2nd hand wool and cotton yarns, leftover materials from previous projects and other reclaimed materials. I also used a small amount of acrylic yarn. I wanted to work with what I already had instead of buying new materials and give them a new life.

The kilim is hung on a small natural branch that I found in the woods near my home. I chose it instead of a traditional wooden dowel because I wanted to keep the whole piece natural and simple.

Details:

  • Hand-woven by me

  • Materials: mainly 2nd hand and recycled wool and cotton yarns, with some acrylic wool

  • Natural branch collected from a nearby woodland

  • Ready to hang

  • Approx. 52 cm wide × 53 cm long, including the hanging branch

Because both the tapestry and the branch are handmade from reclaimed materials, small variations and imperfections are part of this piece's character.

Delivery & Packaging

I pack each piece carefully so it reaches you safely. Whenever possible, I also use recycled or 2nd hand packaging materials to keep the idea of giving existing things a second life.
